The Problem With Disney’s New Star Wars Snacks

Brand new eats from a galaxy far far away have just landed in Hollywood Studios, but it comes with a concerning transmission for those with food allergies…

You’ll find plenty of articles (including from Disney) highlighting all the new Star Wars–themed snacks for the May the 4th celebrations. But when it comes to ingredient lists or allergen info? It’s almost nowhere to be found online.

At first glance, that can feel frustrating — especially when so many of us like to plan our days, and meals, ahead of time.

So let’s talk about how you should navigate limited time events like this with food allergies.

Disney typically does not publish allergy menus for limited-time or seasonal items, and that includes most of these Star Wars offerings.

But the good news — your process doesn’t change.

When you arrive, ask to speak with a chef or special diets–trained Cast Member and walk through your allergies with them directly.

A Disney chef can help you understand what’s safe, what to avoid, and in some cases, what can be modified — even if it doesn’t look safe on the menu at first.

And this is especially important for new items like these — they’re often not fully reflected in mobile order or allergy menus yet.

Speaking directly with a chef is the ONLY way you should be ordering your food, especially at events like this.

At the end of the day, it is important to just roll with the punches. One Star Wars snack isn’t going to make or break your trip.

And even if something is safe for you, remember — these are all limited-time offerings. Items can sell out, ingredients can run low, and availability can change throughout the day.

Disney has officially released an early look at this year’s EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! This fan-favorite event will run from August 26th through November 21st.

Disney chefs are still finalizing this year’s menu, so it’s important not to get too caught up in the details just yet. But I did want to share a few key things for our food allergy community.

Events like Food & Wine are very different from something like the Star Wars May the 4th offerings we just talked about.

While allergy info isn’t available yet, Disney typically releases full allergen menus for this festival ahead of time — and they’re accessible online before your trip. That makes planning your EPCOT days much easier.

That said, there’s one major thing to keep in mind: the booths.

You’ll find food booths all over EPCOT during the festival, and while they’re fun and convenient, they carry a higher risk of cross contact due to tight, shared prep spaces.

Even if a menu item appears safe, the environment itself can be a factor.

As always, you should ask to speak with a chef or a trained Cast Member and make the best decision for your situation. If something doesn’t feel right, trust that instinct and move on.

There are plenty of safer options around the park — you never need to force a risky choice just to try something new.

Disney has shared a first look at a brand-new land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom called Tropical Americas, expected to open in 2027.

This new land will be inspired by the cultures, landscapes, and wildlife of Central and South America, bringing a lush rainforest setting and a brand-new village called Pueblo Esperanza to the park.

The land is set to feature major additions including the first-ever Encanto attraction at a Disney park and a new Indiana Jones–themed experience, blending nature, storytelling, and adventure in a way that fits perfectly with Animal Kingdom.

Disney has also emphasized that the land is being built with real-world inspiration and cultural authenticity, making it one of the most important expansions the park has seen in years.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is officially back and running at Magic Kingdom after a major refurbishment. Disney gave this fan-favorite coaster a full refresh, aiming to keep the classic ride experience intact while improving overall smoothness, safety, and long-term reliability.

Along with the updates, guests can expect a few new visual enhancements throughout the ride, including refreshed scenes and more immersive effects.

Subtle new story elements were also added to bring the attraction to life in a new way without changing the main story line.

Disney also lowered the height requirement to 38”, making it more accessible for younger riders.
