Good morning everyone — I hope you're having a great week! 💙

Halloween hasn’t quite wrapped up, but Disney is already sharing a look at the holiday food coming to Walt Disney World!

Today, we’re taking a look at the new holiday foodie guide and a few things to keep in mind when planning with food allergies.

Then, we’ll talk about a label you’ll see on some Disney menus: plant-based, and what that means for your order.

Let’s get into it. 👇

Disney News

A first look at Disney’s holiday food guide!

Disney has released its 2026 holiday foodie guide, featuring seasonal food and drinks coming to the parks and Disney Springs. Availability will vary by location, with some offerings beginning in early November!

Instead of going through every item in the foodie guide here in the newsletter, I’m going to highlight a couple that caught my eye and share some questions I’d ask before ordering them with food allergies. I will link the official and full 2026 guide at the bottom of this section so you can see all everything being offered this year!

One item that caught my attention is the plant-based Mickey Whoopie Pie at Liberty Square Market in Magic Kingdom, available November 8 through January 2. Disney describes it as flourless chocolate cake with a marshmallow-mint buttercream filling.

We don't have the ingredients for this whoopie pie, but it does say "plant based" in parenthesis next to "buttercream filling". We know this can be very exciting to hear, especially for those with dairy and gluten allergies.

With that said, be sure to ALWAYS verify ingredient and other information on site at the time of ordering. This is not enough information to deem it safe for a dairy or gluten allergy.

A few other options from the 2026 Holiday Foodie Guide that look good are the Santa’s Floridian Pulled Pork Sandwich at the Plaza Restaurant, the Festive Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich from Terra Treats, the Festive Chocolate Chip Cookie from Creature Comforts, and the Snowflake Cinnamon Roll from Isle of Java.

Again it is very important to note that the foodie guide gives us descriptions and dates, but it does not provide enough information to determine whether an item will work for your individual allergies. Words like “flourless” or “plant-based” can sound great, but there are still questions to ask about ingredients and preparation.

If something looks interesting, save the name and location for your trip. When you arrive, explain all of your allergies and ask to speak with a chef or Special Diets-trained Cast Member who can review the current ingredients and preparation with you.

And if you’ve enjoyed a seasonal item in a previous year, don't rely on it being safe again this year. Recipes, ingredients, and processes change all the time.

Food Allergy Tip

Does plant-based mean allergy-friendly?

With a plant-based treat included in the holiday guide, this is a good time to revisit what that label means.

Disney describes its plant-based options as made without animal meat, dairy, eggs or honey. That can be helpful when looking for something to ask about, especially if you have a milk or egg allergy.

But plant-based items can still contain other allergens, including nuts, soy, sesame or wheat. The label also does not tell you about potential cross-contact during preparation.

Even if an item’s description looks like it could work for you, make sure the Cast Member taking your order knows that you have a food allergy. Ordering a plant-based item alone does not communicate that you need Disney’s allergy-request process.

We always recommend speaking directly with a chef when possible. Ask about your specific allergens, the ingredients being used that day, and how your food would be prepared.
