Good morning everyone — we hope your week is off to a magical start.
Today we are going to talk about one of the most important distictions you are going to need to make when dining at Disney with food allergies. Disney owned vs. 3rd party.
We are also going to take a look at what you can expect for wait times and crowd levels if you are planning a trip in the near future!
Finally, we are going to spotlight one of our all time favorite meals from Disney world.
Let’s go 👇
Food Allergy Tip
Not all restaurants at Disney are the same…

If you are reading this you already know Disney is one of the best places to travel with food allergies.
But what we are going to talk about today is how much the experience can change depending on who operates the restaurant.
At Disney-owned locations, there’s a system you can pretty much always count on.
Chef interaction is standard, allergen protocols are consistent, and accommodations are expected—not questioned. You’ll have a conversation, not just an order.
And in many cases, that leads to modified meals or even completely custom options.
With third-party restaurants, it’s a little different.
They can absolutely be allergy-friendly—but they don’t all follow the same Disney-wide structure.
Some locations handle allergies incredibly well, others may lean more on allergy menus or feel less flexible depending on the kitchen.
That’s where the inconsistency comes in. Not unsafe—but not always predictable.
The biggest shift to understand is this:
Disney-owned = consistent system. Third-party = varies by location.
And that doesn’t mean you should avoid them completely. It just means your approach matters more.
Ask more questions, speak directly to someone knowledgeable, and don’t assume the process will match Disney-owned restaurants.
That extra step is what keeps your experience just as safe—and way less stressful.

What’s Happening At Disney Right Now!

📸 Disney
Spring break season is in full swing, and crowds are ramping up across all four parks.
Wait times are climbing fast, with many of the top rides seeing some of the longest lines in months.
This time of year, planning becomes way more important than usual.
Parks are busier earlier in the day, and popular attractions are filling up quickly.
Lightning Lane strategy is also becoming a huge factor right now.
More guests are using it, which is pushing standby waits even higher.
If you’re heading to Disney soon, expect a more fast-paced, competitive park day.
The difference between a smooth day and a stressful one right now comes down to planning ahead.
Restaurant Spotlight
Cítricos

For this week’s Restaurant Spotlight, we are going to talk about Cítricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. We've posted other photos of this meal before but it deserves another spotlight. I present to you, the House-made Rigatoni.
For those with food allergies, this dish is a masterclass in food science. That "egg yolk" in the center? It's actually 100% plant-based. Disney chefs used a yellow tomato/vegetable purée to mimic the texture of a yolk, served over a hearty plant-based Bolognese with watermelon radishes and roasted mushrooms.
It is important and unfortunate to note, this exact version is a former menu staple and is not currently listed on the standard menu.
So why are we even talking about this? As we always like to say - speak with the chef! Just because a specific dish isn't on the printed menu doesn't mean the kitchen can't work their magic.
Cítricos is known for their incredible house-made pastas. When you speak with a chef at Cítricos, mention that you would like to try a pasta dish, or you can even save this email and show them this photo!
The chefs at Cítricos are often able to create something similar or even better based on the seasonal ingredients they have on hand. Don't be afraid to have that conversation!
Have you ever had a "secret" allergy-friendly meal created for you at Cítricos or any other restaurant on Disney property? Reply to this email and let us know!
