When making your next Disney Dining reservation online, you won’t be able to find a place to note your allergens. At the surface this is pretty concerning, but this is actually a good thing. Let me explain…

The Disney allergy process is not being weakened, the responsibility is just shifting more onto you.

And here’s the truth, this is going to force you to take the steps you should’ve been taking before.

Even at Disney, you can’t go on autopilot. You can’t rely on the wait staff to take care of your food allergies.

You have to advocate for yourself (or your child) every step of the way.

That means speaking up. Asking to speak with a chef. And trusting your gut if something doesn’t feel right.

When you get to the restaurant…

Tell the host.
Tell your server.
And always — always — ask to speak with a chef.

Disney is still the gold standard for accommodating food allergies.

But at the end of the day — the final call is always yours.

Food allergy menus aren’t telling you the full story.
They’re designed to be overly cautious and simplified, which means they often label things as unsafe that could actually be modified.

A dish might show as “not allergy-friendly”…
but a quick conversation with a chef can open up way more options than what’s listed.

And it goes both ways — there are even known gaps. At Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, for example, allergen-friendly milkshakes don’t always appear as safe on the menu…
but families have safely ordered them with a chef many times.

At the end of the day, those menus are just a starting point.
The real magic happens when you speak with a chef — that’s how you unlock the full menu and those “how did they make this safe?” meals.

First things first, D-Luxe Burger is Disney-owned and operated, meaning they follow the same “gold standard allergy protocol” that you will find in the parks.

When you get to the front of the line, tell a Cast Member about your allergy and they’ll bring out a chef or manager to speak with you directly.

This isn’t just pointing at a menu.
You’re having a real conversation about ingredients and cross-contact.

Once your order is placed, it’s flagged in the system —
and that’s where the behind-the-scenes precautions kick in.

We’re talking dedicated prep areas,
fresh gloves and utensils,
and allergy-friendly buns that actually hold up (which… matters more than you think).

And one of the biggest questions families always ask — the fries.

Good news: they typically use a dedicated allergy fryer for their hand-cut fries…
but like always, double-check when you’re there.

Even after you’re done eating,
the safety continues.

Everything is disposable, which helps reduce
