Good morning everyone — I hope you're having a great week! 💙

We've got a fun mix of updates for you today. First, I'll share a little behind-the-scenes look at what we've been working on for the Disney Food Allergy Group, including a sneak peek at something we've been building over the past few months.

Then we'll revisit one of my favorite allergy-friendly quick-service spots at Walt Disney World, before wrapping up with the latest details Disney has shared about its newest resort coming to Bay Lake.

Let's get into it. 👇

What We've Been Working On…

The Haunted Mansion

You may have already noticed that things are starting to look a little different around Disney Food Allergy Group. We recently introduced a new logo, and while it's a small change on the surface, it represents something much bigger happening behind the scenes.

Over the past few months, we've been working on a brand-new website designed specifically for the Disney food allergy community.

Along with a fresh look, we're creating a growing library of in-depth guides covering Disney restaurants, resorts, policies, and planning tips. Unlike social media posts or newsletters that can get buried over time, these guides are meant to be evergreen resources you can bookmark, revisit, and rely on whenever you're planning your next Disney vacation.

We're still putting the finishing touches on everything, but we're getting closer every week. I can't wait to share it with all of you soon—this is just the beginning, and I think it's going to become one of the most valuable resources we've ever created for our community.

Restaurant Guide: D-Luxe Burger

The best food allergy friendly burger on property

If you’re navigating food allergies at Disney Springs, there is one spot that consistently feels like a safe haven: D-Luxe Burger.

Because this spot is Disney-owned and operated, they follow the exact same high-level safety protocols you’ll find inside the theme parks. Here is exactly what the process looks like from start to finish 👇️

When you get to the front of the line, tell the Cast Member immediately about your allergies. They will call over a Chef or a Manager to speak with you directly.

You won’t just be looking at a binder; you’ll have a conversation about ingredients and cross-contamination risks.

Once your order is placed, it’s marked with an "Allergy" flag in their system. At D-Luxe, they use:

  • Dedicated Prep Areas: They have separate spaces to prepare allergy-friendly meals.

  • Fresh Gloves & Utensils: The Chef will change their gloves and use clean tools specifically for your burger.

  • Safe Buns: They carry high-quality gluten-free/allergy-friendly buns that don’t crumble the second you touch them!

More good news for our food allergy community… D-Luxe typically uses a dedicated allergy fryer for their iconic hand-cut fries, but always double-check upon arrival!

Even when you’re done eating, the safety continues. When you go to clear your tray, everything is disposable, reducing the risk of "back-of-house" cross-contamination with shared plates or cutlery.

While Disney is world-class at this, always stay vigilant. Here are a couple of friendly reminders 👇️

  1. Double-check your burger when it arrives.

  2. Look for that "Allergy" pick/stake in the bun.

  3. Don't be afraid to ask a Cast Member to reconfirm a sauce or ingredient if something looks different.

Safe eating is happy eating!

Guests can look forward to Moonglade, a signature waterfront restaurant, Bay Lake Provisions quick service marketplace, Paint Out Point Bar & Grill by the pool, and Dandelion Terrace, a lounge with beautiful views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Combined with the previously announced Wetlands recreation area, lazy river, pools, and family play spaces, Lakeshore Lodge is shaping up to be one of Disney World's most unique resort additions in years.
